The location is perfect, right in Myeongdong and I adored the decor. It was both campy and sumptuous, with pseudo oil paintings above the bathtub, chandeliers everywhere, and a room-sized (real!!) floral arrangement in the entryway of the building. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a king atelier suite, which was bigger than some apartments I have lived in and had every amenity you could want. And the view was breathtaking! I sent my friend a photo from my room and they asked whether it was from an observation platform :-) Maybe my favorite part of my stay was the service. For example, my first morning there, I left the room in a rush with my things a little bit scattered. When I returned later that afternoon, my toiletries and makeup were sitting on a folded hand towel on the counter, my notebooks were neatly arranged on the coffee table, and my suitcase was neatly laid out at the foot of the beautifully made bed. You don't commonly encounter that level of service anymore, even at "nice" hotels. I loved my stay at L'Escape and can't wait to go back with loved ones.

This is a beautiful and decadently designed hotel. From the main entrance adorned with Moulin Rouge style lights to the gorgeous dark painted walls, it's glamorous and stylish. Our room was large with absolutely heaps of storage space. The bathroom was marble and included a clawfoot tub. It has a safe, Netflix and touch button electric controlled curtains and dimmable lighting. The bed was lovely and comfortable as were the pillows. The hotel is centrally located with the metro virtually at your doorstep, and only a short walk to Myeongdong shopping street and night market. There are a few convenience stores around but we found that the food hall at the basement level of the Shinsegae department store nearby had a much larger selection. We didn't have breakfast there as the feedback from other guests weren't very positive so we just ate at the local 'Twosome' Cafe. Honestly the best hotel we have stayed in, in a long time.

Tips - Download kakaomap as google maps does not work in Korea. Get a Tmoney card from any convenience store as the subway is right next door to this hotel. Download Papago for a smoother translation from English to Korean. Hotel - My wife and I had a wonderful four night stay at the hotel. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making us feel welcome. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, which added a special touch to our visit. The best part was the hotel's prime location, just steps away from the subway, making it easy for us to explore. Overall, it was a fantastic hotel to stay at. Will book L'Escape again. Downside - The Hotel does not have laundry service but there is one located down the road next to a Emart.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the "Escape" hotel in Seoul, and it's undoubtedly one of the best I've experienced in over 30 years of global travel. The retro yet meticulously curated decor, spacious and comfortable rooms, ideal location, and the exceptional friendliness and service quality of the staff, whether during breakfast or at the front desk, are commendable. I can't praise it enough. While I couldn't rate it higher than a 10, primarily due to the lack of laundry service and the room temperature issue (set at 28°C upon arrival and unadjustable), these are minor details. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

What a wonderful hotel to stay in during my short time in Myeondong. The staff were all so lovely and attentive and made me feel very welcome. I was given a free room upgrade as it was my birthday and the room I had was so beautiful. The location is also excellent and there is a subway station almost directly outside the hotel making it easy for transport options. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend for anyone wanting a bit of luxury. Thank you for making my short stay a wonderful one.
